The Annual Black Tie/White Coat Gala has raised over $350,000 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund since 2002
The Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 1988 with a $10,000 contribution from a USC School of Medicine graduate who wished to remain anonymous. It was dormant until 1998 when it was reactivated in support of the University’s Bicentennial Campaign. Recipients are chosen by the School of Medicine Scholarship and Loan Committee based on established criteria including need and merit. This Fund serves as a means for alumni to improve the health of the community by assuring financial assistance for the doctors of tomorrow.
